About us

Lee Sherborne was born and raised in the town of Bideford. He began working in the family funeral business at 14 years old and has never looked back. With almost 40 years of experience, being a funeral director is somewhat of a vocation for him and he takes great pride in delivering a compassionate, sensitive and dignified service.

Joel Rutherford joined us in 2026. Joel has been involved in the profession for over 20 years and has been part of the Ilfracombe community all his life. He has a wealth of experience and runs our Ilfracombe office.

Georgina started her career with Braddicks and Sherborne in 2018. Having completed work experience with us whilst still at school she knew from early on that being a funeral director was what she wanted to do and was keen to join us again after completing her studies. She’s now a fully fledged funeral director working in our Bideford branch.

Mel joined us in 2022 as receptionist and office manager and is the friendly voice you’re most likely to hear if you call our office.

In our team we also have Del and Dave who drive our vehicles and assist on the day of the funeral.
