Passed away peacefully at North Devon Hospital on 24th July 2025 aged 87 years.

Beloved wife of Christopher Walke and loving mum to Sam, Rupert and Toby and their partners, Paul, Linda and Lisa.  Grandmother to Max, Ben, Edward, Samuel, Taliesin, Eli, Anya and Jacob.

Funeral service to be held at North Devon Crematorium, Barnstaple, EX31 3NW on Friday 29th August at 2.15pm.   All friends very welcome to celebrate a wonderful life.

Family flowers only but donations, if desired for North Devon Hospice.

    Thinking of you all and sending love. Joan played such a big part in my life when she was my boss in Riversdale and I got to know all the family. She kindly let me and my family stay in the lovely cottage in Appledore when I was going through a difficult time. She was such a character and larger than life! The ex-practice managers and I often talk about her when we meet up. She made a huge impact on Riversdale during her time there and I’d like also to send condolences on their behalf. I’m unable to come to her funeral as will be in Portugal but I will be thinking about you all.
